The State of Utah

Founded as the 45th state of the United States of America on January 4, 1896, the State of Utah is located in the Western United States. Major cities in the State of Utah are the Salt Lake City, Ogden and Provo. The Rocky Mountains, Colorado Plateau and the Great Salt Lake Dessert span over the State of Utah. It has a population of approximately 2.5 million people, about 80% of whom live in its state capital the Salt Lake City. The local population is primarily composed of descendants of the believers of Mormonism (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) and descendants of Nordic immigrants.

The U.S. families generally attach great importance to children’s education. Excellent educational resources in pre-school education, K-12 education and higher education are often valued. Therefore, the educational factor takes up 15.5% of the US News state ranking. The educational level can reflect the ranking of each state in the Top50 Best Education States.

[Transportation] The Salt Lake City International is well-equipped and offers high levels of services. An aviation hub based on the Salt Lake City has been established. [Real Estate] The State of Utah offers comfortable houses at a price lower than the average level of the United States. In 2007, the real estate industry had a value to USD 11.989 billion, marking a 9.4% growth from last year and taking up 11.3% of the total GDP in the state.

According to USA Today, Provo in the State of Utah is one of the 3 most economically developed cities in the United States as evidenced by a report released by the Milken Institute.

Creating 5,500 new job opportunities from 2011 to 2016, Provo has become a cradle of technological development in the United States. It’s home to the Adobe Digital Marketing Division staffed with about 1,200 employees. In 2017, a second facility was founded right next to its original office premise, employing 1,260 employees.

Meanwhile, the Brigham Young University in Provo has become an importance source of talents for the local science and technology enterprises, creating a development environment for the startups. Thus far, this University has incubated several technology enterprises, including the software tycoon Qualtrics with a market value of USD 2.5 billion.

The Brigham Young University ranks 70th among the United States Universities in 2007, and its Business School ranks 10th among the United States Business Schools. Furthermore, the State of Utah boasts of 718 public elementary and middle schools.
